Licensing

This is a data / intellectual-property license for a data product. It governs use of the factual historical dataset and the API that serves it. It is not a financial-services agreement and conveys no financial advice — see Factual Data, Not Advice.

1. Definitions (DRAFT)​

  • "Data" — the backtested/modelled historical figures, series, metadata and correlation matrices served by this API, and any export thereof.
  • "Licensee" — the professional or institutional entity granted access.
  • "Permitted Users" — [ Licensee's employees / affiliates within scope ].

2. Grant (DRAFT)​

Subject to these terms and payment of any applicable fees, BTC Alpha grants the Licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide ("global") license to access and use the Data internally for the Licensee's own professional/institutional purposes for the license term.

3. Acceptable use (DRAFT)​

  • Use is limited to professional / institutional purposes by Permitted Users.
  • The Data is provided as factual historical information; the Licensee will not present it as advice, a recommendation, or a forecast to any third party.
  • The Licensee will not use the Data to misrepresent performance or mislead any person.

4. Redistribution & attribution (DRAFT)​

  • No redistribution or resale of the raw Data, in whole or in substantial part, to third parties [ except as expressly permitted ].
  • Derived analytics or aggregates [ may / may not ] be shared externally, subject to [ conditions ].
  • Where display is permitted, attribute to "BTC Alpha — Strategy Data (backtested historical)" and retain the not-advice framing.

5. No warranty (DRAFT)​

The Data is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Backtested figures are hypothetical and subject to the methodology limitations. BTC Alpha does not warrant fitness for any particular purpose.
